Terms of use · updated 26 October 2026
A guide, not the last word.
These terms cover the Jagadhatri Guide website (jagadhatri.in) and the Android app. By using either, you agree to them. They are written to be read.
An unofficial, free guide
The guide is made by Nirjan Munshi with friends from Chandannagar. It is free, and it is not run by or for the Chandernagore Central Jagadhatri Puja Committee, any puja committee, the police or the municipal corporation.
Information can be wrong or change
Pandal locations, founding years, jubilees, the procession order and times come from public lists, Google Maps and checks on the ground. Committees and the authorities can change plans at any time, and we can make mistakes. Always follow local announcements, the police and volunteers on the ground. Times in the guide are India time.
Your safety comes first
The puja draws very large crowds. Walking directions open in Google Maps and may not know about closed roads, barricades or one-way crowd routes. Crowd levels are estimates from people using the app and may be out of date or wrong. Use your own judgement, keep children close, and do not use the app while crossing a road or in a moving crowd.
Using the crowd and map features fairly
- Send busy reports and map answers only for where you really are and what you really see.
- Do not use simulated locations, send reports in bulk, or try to break or overload the service.
- Do not copy the service's data in bulk with automated tools.
- Keep notes about places, not people: no names, phone numbers or anything offensive.
We may ignore, remove or block reports, notes and answers that break these rules, and every change to the map is checked before it goes live.
What you send us
When you suggest a location, report a problem or write a note, you let us use it to improve the guide, including showing the corrected location or details to everyone. You keep any rights you have in what you wrote.
Other services
The guide links to Google Maps and the Google My Map, uses map data from OpenStreetMap (© OpenStreetMap contributors, under the Open Database License), and the app will be distributed through Google Play. Those services have their own terms.
No warranty
The guide is provided as it is, without any promise that it is accurate, complete or always available. As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for any loss or harm that comes from using it or relying on it.
Privacy
How the guide handles data is on the privacy page.
